Pruning

Landscape trees require a higher level of care than their forest counterparts to maintain their health.  Correct pruning will provide that and also give your trees natural grace and beauty.

Young trees which are properly pruned will grow into strong trees with the correct shape for your landscape and require less corrective pruning as they mature. Mature trees should need minimal structural pruning and only minor maintenance pruning to improve their appearance and promote good health. This is done by removing dead and damaged branches and thinning to reduce weight allowing wind penetration and promoting sun filtration.

Proper pruning is crucial to the health of your trees.   Improper pruning can cause life-long damage or even shorten the life of your tree. Topping is an example of improper pruning and something that we never do.  More than 25 years of research and experience by the tree care industry has proven topping to be very harmful to trees, yet it is still widely used.  Topping stresses trees, creates a hazard tree, causes decay and is much more expensive in the long run.

Trimming & Thinning

It is a known fact that tree trimming enhances a tree's natural shape and beauty as well as the quality of your surroundings.  Trimming your trees also raises your property value and adds charm and beauty to your neighborhood. Proper trimming will improve the general health of your trees, extend their lives and allow them to flourish.

Tree trimming is done to train younger plants, rejuvenate older plants, improve overall appearance, control size and create special forms.  Trimming is also performed to prevent personal injury and property damage by providing clearance between roofs, walls, telephone lines, utility lines and any other buildings or structures.  Preventative seasonal trimming can minimize tree and property damage during tropical storms and hurricanes.

When a mature tree becomes densely branched, it can cast too much shade and be susceptible to wind damage.  Thinning the branches allows the canopy of your tree to spread allowing more light to filter to the ground and improve air flow through the foliage.

Our professionals know what proper practices should be used for your specific tree care needs.  We will apply the necessary practice while keeping in mind your objectives.  Trees respond in specific and predictable ways to maintenance practices.  Careful study of these responses allows us to implement practices which best preserve and enhance the beauty, structural integrity and functional value of your trees.  World Wide Tree Service is prepared to serve all your immediate trimming and thinning needs in a timely and efficient manner and can provide routine maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis.

Hazardous Removals

World Wide Tree Service specializes in hazard trees requiring technical aerial work and rigging.  While our maintenance programs can often prevent the need for tree removal, here in Florida where hurricanes, tropical storms and high winds can create tree injuries and uprooting, causing a need for total tree removal. Depending upon nature’s fury, even well kept trees can succumb to hurricane winds and torrential rains requiring removal of such trees because they have become a danger to life and limb.

Our removal services include the removal of dead, dying and diseased trees and limbs; removal of trees damaged or fallen as a result of high winds, tropical storms and hurricanes; removal of trees with decayed trunks or root rot; stump grinding and stump removal; and complete clean-up of the job site.

Transplanting

Transplanting a tree versus planting a tree allows you to pick the size that you want immediately. When you plant a new tree, it takes years for it to get to the size that you might want. When you choose to transplant a tree, you can get a mature landscape look immediately.  When crowding is a problem transplanting can allow a tree to have a healthier and prolonged life.  Transplanting can also allow a tree to grow properly and maintain it's shape and beauty.

We can move your mature trees from one spot to another on your property or from one remote site to another, using state-of-the-art tree equipment.  So if your trees have outgrown their space or you are planning any landscaping changes on your property, give consideration to transplanting and contact us today to handle your transplanting job or for an estimate and additional information about our services.

Fertilization & Nutrition

Trees have basic nutritional requirements that are necessary for survival. Trees have other basic nutritional requirements that are necessary for proper development. Nothing, including trees, can live with out carbon, hydrogen or oxygen; fortunately these three things can be obtained from the air. The other elements needed by trees for proper development must be obtained from the soil.

Trees in urban and suburban environments are often under high stress conditions due to low moisture availability, soil compaction, physical damage, nearby construction and competition from turf and other nearby trees and shrubs.

Fertilizer (plant nutrition) is no substitute for environmental factors, such as sunlight and water, which must be in balance if a tree is to develop its full potential. Trees that are healthy and growing vigorously are less susceptible to attack by insects and diseases. An application of fertilizer may, in some instances, improve the tree's resistance to infestations of certain pests.

Whether you are looking to fertilize to newly planted trees, transplanted trees or established trees, Only Trees can assist you in developing a plan for the nutrition of your trees.

Diagnosis & Pest Control

The presence of insects and disease on your trees is more often a result of some other problem affecting your plants which is making them vulnerable to attack. In most situations, healthy, vigorous, well maintained trees are resistant to outbreaks of insects and disease.

Although some pests attack healthy trees, it is more the exception than the rule. Many factors influence the presence of disease and pests in your landscape including: host/target species; site conditions; environmental stress, such as drought; past pruning practices; current plant health; environmental stress, such as drought; and history of pesticide use.

Management of insect pests and disease rarely relies on a single control practice. Tactics used in integrated pest management include the use of pest resistant or tolerant plants and cultural, physical, mechanical, biological, and chemical control. Applying multiple control tactics minimizes the chance that insects will adapt to any one tactic.

Simply spraying to control an insect problem may get rid of the insect, but usually does not address the underlying problem. Through practices that promote healthy plants, we can help reduce the number of problems your trees might otherwise experience.

If you suspect pest infestation or simply need a preventative maintenance plan, World Wide Tree Service is here to help.
